Project description:

Supply and installation of ultra-sensitive gamma dose rate radiation monitoring system for the Saluggia site

Scope:

SoGIN is an Italian state-owned enterprise responsible for nuclear decommissioning as well as management and disposal of radioactive waste produced by industrial, research and medical processes.

Since its foundation, ELSE NUCLEAR has been supporting the activities carried out by the sites managed by SoGIN all over the country with technologies for radiation monitoring and radioactive waste characterization.

For this project, ELSE NUCLEAR supplied and installed 25 ultra-sensitive gamma monitors, constituted by the ELSE NUCLEAR ICP-T ion chamber based gamma radiation monitoring units, for upgrading the old gamma dose rate monitoring system of the Saluggia site, which is a nuclear fuel reprocessing facility built in 1965 and now in the decommissioning phase.
